Michael Cohen is an accomplished executive with an extensive background in investment banking, portfolio management, venture capital, and entrepreneurship. He has founded multi-million dollar funds, built firms from the ground up, and negotiated numerous deals. Michael acts as the Chairman of the Investment Committee at Venovate Marketplace.
With over 15 years in technology venture capital, focused on telecom and infrastructure investments, Michael has experience as the Managing Principal for Global Crossing Ventures, as the founder of Advanced Data Center, and as the founder of Industry Ventures Acquisition Fund (Aperture).
As manager of several venture funds, Michael served on numerous boards and was responsible for leading financing rounds of a number of technology companies, including Atherotech, CCC Network Systems, CellzDirect, Granite Systems, Innergy Power, Narus, NorthPoint Communications, Sonus Networks, and SpringTide Networks. He was also associated with CIBC Oppenheimer's Technology Investment Banking Group and KPMG.
Michael has an MS in Management from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Alfred P. Sloan Fellow, and a BA in International Political Economy with honors from Connecticut College. He holds Series 7 and 63 licenses.
Patrick Thomas is a Managing Director at Venovate Marketplace based in New York City.
Prior to joining Venovate, Patrick co-founded G2 Investment Group and served as its Chief Operating Officer, including for its subsidiary Forbes Private Capital Group. Previously, he spent ten years in investment banking in Paris, London, and New York with Indosuez Capital, Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and ABN AMRO Rothschild. Having held various positions within equity capital markets at these firms, including head of syndicate, he was involved in several of the largest international equity offerings of their day.
Patrick has a BS from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and received the Landegger Honors Certificate in International Business Diplomacy. He holds Series 62, 63, 82, and 99 licenses.
William Deitrick is a Managing Director with Venovate Marketplace focused on investment banking and capital raising for middle market companies.
Will has experience in investment banking, research, and hedge fund management. He previously co-founded the multi-strategy hedge fund Greenock Capital where he was a Partner & Portfolio Manager and ran the firm’s credit business comprising of more than half of the firm’s assets under management. At Citigroup he was Global Head of Loan Strategy and his team was ranked by Institutional Investor Magazine’s 2006 annual poll of loan market professionals. He was a co-author in 2006 of The Handbook of Loan Syndications and Trading and co-authored in 2007 The Structured Credit Handbook. Previously he held similar positions at J.P. Morgan and Bank of America.
Prior to working in finance he was a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State. He holds MA and BA degrees from Johns Hopkins University. He has the Series 7, 79, and 63 securities licenses.
