Kat Cook
CEO, Venovate Marketplace

Kat Cook is the Chief Executive Officer for Venovate Marketplace, Inc, FINRA member firm and SEC registered Alternative Trading System, a wholly owned subsidiary of Coinbase Global, Inc. Kat also serves as the CEO of Keystone Capital Corporation, an affiliated FINRA member firm. 

From 2010-2014, Mrs. Cook was a co-founder of a startup company and the Chief Operations Officer of Alternatives Direct, LLC. During this venture she and her partners developed a patented partnership accounting method and a technology-based solution for private placements. Before founding the startup Alternatives Direct, Kat served as the Senior Managing Director at NASDAQ OMX Group in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Mrs. Cook spent 6 years at Penson World Wide subsidiaries in various roles including: Vice President, Clearing & Settlement, at Penson Financial Services; Manager, Corporate Business Development, Trading Technology & Market Data at Nexa Technologies; Manager, Market Data Administration & Direct Market Access Trading Systems at Penson Financial Services; and, Correspondent Clearing Support at Penson Financial Services.

Earlier in her career, Kat held positions at various Wall Street firms, including Trade Desk Supervisor/Manager at Tradecast Securities, Business Analyst at Merrill Lynch International Private Banking Group (London, UK) and Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.

Kat earned a BS and a MS from Texas A&M University in Agricultural Economics, where she was actively involved in Pi Beta Phi, Student Conference on National Affairs (SCONA) and Aggie Recruiters. She holds Series 7, 24, 63 and 99 licenses.

Joe Nikolson
CCO, COO, Venovate Marketplace

Joe Nikolson has an extensive background in capital markets and financial services. Currently Mr. Nikolson serves as Principal Operations Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at Venovate Marketplace and an affiliated firm, Keystone Capital Corporation. Before joining Venovate Marketplace, he served as CEO of Quest Capital and a National Futures Association-registered Introducing Broker and Commodity Trading Advisor.

Prior to this, Mr. Nikolson served as President of Bonds.com, Inc, a provider of an innovative online trading platform bringing execution, liquidity and competitive pricing to the fragmented fixed income marketplace. Mr. Nikolson was responsible for obtaining SEC Alternative Trading System status for the trading platform, significantly increasing revenues and the firm's client base as well as successfully closing several rounds of strategic capital.

Prior to joining Bonds.com Inc., Mr. Nikolson served as Chief Growth Officer of TradeStation Group, Inc. and and as President of TradeStation Securities, Inc. He was also a Director of TradeStation Europe Ltd. and TradeStation Securities' membership representative to the Boston Option Exchange, Chicago Board Options Exchange, International Exchange, Pacific Exchange, Philadelphia Stock Exchange and an allied member of the New York Stock Exchange.

Mr. Nikolson received a BBA in Finance, Summa Cum Laude, and an MBA from Cleveland State University. Mr. Nikolson completed post-graduate work at Kent State University where he served as a Teaching Fellow in Finance.

 Mr. Nikolson currently holds 3, 4, 7, 10, 14, 24, 27, 52, 53, 55/57, 65/66 and 99 FINRA licenses.
